The Rev. Billy Tweedie joined Snowmass Chapel in 2024. Prior to coming to Snowmass he spent ten years leading a small Episcopal church in Austin, TX, where he has cultivated a strong community vibe for locals and church-goers alike: think pickleball, live music, youth groups and gardening, and you begin to get a picture of his eclectic ministry.
Billy is well-versed in a variety of worship styles and brings a joyful presence to his sermons and all he does. His pastoral skills are evident and one of the things that I believe really make him a good fit for our community. Not to mention that he is an avid outdoorsman! Billy fly-fishes, hikes and skis; in fact he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in 2000 as part of his discernment process toward ordination.
COULTER

Coulter is here to support children, youth and families in any way we can dream up. In addition to his experience in youth ministry, Coulter has spent time in schools and hospitals focusing on adolescent mental health; he has a Masters of Social Work from University of Denver, and currently holds an LCSW and CAS. JEANNETTE COHEN

Jeannette may be the newest member of the Snowmass Chapel staff, but she has been part of the Chapel community for decades. Originally from Indianapolis, she holds a BS in zoology, chemistry, and environmental studies from Butler University. Before joining the Chapel team, Jeannette spent 32 years with Aspen Skiing Company, bringing with her a deep knowledge of the valley and a strong commitment to service.
As Administrative Assistant, she supports the Chapel staff, Board of Directors, congregation, and the wider Snowmass Village community. She also serves as cemetery sexton for Hidden Valley Cemetery. An aspiring Bible nerd, Jeannette is thrilled to step into this role and deepen her connection with such a vibrant and welcoming community.

Marion hails from Birmingham, Alabama, but has Called Snowmass Village home for 42 years. She got her BA degree from Mercer University in Macon Georgia. She has attended The chapel from the days it first opened it’s doors. She has served as a Sunday school teacher here for over 20 years, and served as a board member for two different terms. She has also served as a Stephen Minister in the first group that was inducted at SMC.
She looks forward to her job in finding volunteers for Sunday Morning worship, assisting with events at the chapel and welcoming newcomers among other things!

LISA AANONSEN
Contemplative Ministries of Snowmass Chapel

Lisa’s role at the Chapel is to guide individuals toward a deeper connection with God through contemplative practices.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Central Methodist University, as well as a Master’s and Post-Professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Additionally, Lisa has earned a Level 1 Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teaching Credential from Brown University School of Public Health.
Her spiritual journey is deeply rooted in the practice of Centering Prayer, which she first encountered through Snowmass Chapel’s weekly prayer group. Drawn to the unifying openness of this ancient Christian tradition, Lisa has deepened her practice through daily commitment, annual silent retreats at places like St. Benedict’s Monastery in Snowmass, and ongoing contemplative training through the Mindfulness Center at Brown and Contemplative Outreach of Colorado.
Alongside her work at the Chapel, Lisa maintains a private physical therapy practice and teaches MBSR, blending her expertise in health and wellness with her dedication to spiritual growth.

Sue was raised in the Boston area, where she got her Bachelor’s degree in English and Masters in Education. She is currently pursuing a second Masters degree in Counseling. Sue coordinates the Chapel’s Stephen Ministry peer support program, Caring Connection Moms and Dads groups and all aspects of our caring ministries. She is passionate about wholistic well-being and loves serving the Chapel community.

Kara holds a BS from Arizona State University in Business Marketing, and she began her career in Corporate America in the sales / marketing realm. A passionate advocate for outdoor play and lovin’ on kids, Kara is also co-founder of Camp Smashbox at Snowmass Chapel.

Julie has been part of the Chapel since 2018 as the Administrative Director, Director of Operations, and now the Finance Director. She is responsible for managing the Chapel’s finances, budgeting, donor relations, and human resources. Julie and her husband, Dave, now reside in Ridgway, Colorado. She has a Bachelor’s degree in management and a Master’s in Elementary Education.
