Dear Chapel Family,
It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve as the President of the Snowmass Chapel Board of Trustees. Whether your connection with the Chapel is long term, growing, new, or virtual, thank you for being part of our Chapel family.
Snowmass Chapel relishes being described as a “different kind of place.” It is Christ centered, engaging, inclusive, giving, and focused on LOVE – love of God, of Others and Yourself. It reaches out in numerous ways: to serve, to counsel, to teach, to give to people in need, to enrich with beautiful music, to create community, to support people through their most challenging times, to share in celebrations of the best times, to worship, and to spread God’s love.
This year has been very difficult for our community with the illness and loss of dear Rev. Dr. Charla Belinski. As a community, we have both mourned and been grateful for all that Charla did for the Chapel in the many years she was here in various positions, ultimately as Senior Pastor. The Board of Trustees, the staff, and you have stepped up to get us through this difficult time.
As we look ahead, beyond the time of grief and loss we are experiencing, we are immersed in God’s love, and our hearts are filled with hope and a commitment to our continued work and ministry. An exciting and thorough search for a new Senior Pastor is underway. We have purchased a condo in Snowmass Village for use as employee housing, with Rev. Billy as its inaugural occupant. We have a plan to build a new manse in Charla’s honor, as well as make other substantial improvements and additions to our property. We are thriving and looking to the future with anticipation and joy.
If you have never participated in Snowmass Chapel’s annual pledge campaign, I invite you to consider it now. If you have given in the past, would you please consider doing so again? To make your pledge, visit our online donation page by Aug. 30th. Receiving your pledge by Aug. 30th is vital to our planning for the year ahead (remember, you can fulfill your pledge weekly, monthly, or one time throughout the year). You may also contact Finance Director Julie Ressler at Julie@snowmasschapel.org or (970)923-6192 ext. 4 for more information.
Given the upcoming building plans you likely wonder if this pledge ask will be used to cover any of those costs. The answer is NO. The pledged money is for the operational budget of the Chapel so that we can continue to do all of the things we do so well.
Will there be a later ask concerning the anticipated building? The answer is YES. That will be a separate and different “ask,” a separate fundraising campaign, that will take place later. We are in the very early stage of determining the engineering, construction and related costs. The construction of the first phase which will include the manse, will start in 2027. Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
Thank you for your generosity and for being a person who makes a difference in a place that makes a difference.
With blessings and prayers,

Bonnie Daniels
