Join us in the stillness. Renewal awaits.

At Snowmass Chapel, a sacred rhythm of stillness, prayer, and renewal invites you into the heart of contemplative life. Through weekly gatherings, seasonal retreats, and self-guided reflection, we create space to pause, listen, and deepen your spiritual journey.

Contemplative practice invites us to slow down, quiet the mind, and become fully present. Through silent prayer, meditation, and deep reflection, we awaken to God’s presence in daily life, nurturing inner peace, clarity, and connection—with ourselves, one another, and the world.

Rooted in the Judeo devotional traditions of Jesus’ time, contemplative prayer has been a cornerstone of Christian faith for centuries. Yet, in today’s fast-paced world, silence and stillness can easily be lost. Cultivating this practice requires intention, support, and space.

Contemplative Offerings

Ongoing Weekly Centering Prayer Gatherings

Rooted in ancient Christian tradition, Centering Prayer is a silent practice that opens our awareness to God’s presence.

  • Morning Stillness Centering Prayer – Summer Schedule: Fridays only, and a little later to honor the rhythm of summer, 6:30-7:00 a.m (Zoom).
  • Centering Prayer & Book Study – We’re pausing the weekly gatherings through summer, but we’re reading After Amen by Tyler Staton, and will meet to share our reflections on August 23rd.

Annual & Seasonal Retreats

Step away from daily life and immerse in contemplative practice.

  • Multi-Week Series deepen understanding through study, reflection, and shared prayer.
  • Retreats range from half-day gatherings on the Chapel grounds to multi-day retreats in nature, exploring contemplative themes and deepening connection through prayer and stillness.

Daly Breath: A Meditation Walk

A year-round, self-guided journey through sacred TouchPoints on the chapel grounds, offering reflection through nature, scripture, and seasonal themes.

Labyrinth

In the quiet of the Snowmass Chapel yurt, with Brush Creek babbling in the background, the labyrinth—modeled after the 13th-century path at Chartres Cathedral—guides us to release, recentre, and return, renewed. Set up seasonally, it is open daily for individual walks from sunrise to sunset, with opportunities for guided group experiences during each period. These offerings are timed to support key times of transition, including Easter, Autumn, Christmas, and the New Year. Our next labyrinth opportunity will be available August 23-Sept 8, 2026.

Community Mindfulness Offerings

Grounded in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), these gatherings create space to slow down, cultivate awareness, and foster connection. While not tied to any single religion, mindfulness draws from shared spiritual elements across traditions, making it a unifying and healing practice. All are welcome.
